Why we do this: We love to travel, and find house and petsitting to be a wonderful way of integrating into a new community and culture whilst traveling. We learn a lot from our experiences, about ourselves, and about others. We particularly love petsitting, because we had our own cat and our own dog, for 18 and 15+ years respectively. We love the company of people and animals of all kinds! We travel because Blue is a freelance writer and photographer, and travel feeds our minds, our souls, our creativity and our portfolio of creative work. It is the perfect lifestyle for us.
We are: Blue, a professional writer, photographer and web developer, and Willow, a personal trainer, who also assists with Blue's business. We are seeking European and International house, pet and business sits in 2010. Our current UK base is in St. Ives, Cornwall, although we travel and house sit full time these days, renting apartments and hotels to fill the gaps and complete the adventures. We are healthy-living female vegetarian non-smokers, very light drinkers, and experienced pet and home sitters [references available], and have been partners for over twenty six years. We love animals and are experienced with rescued, sick & elderly pets. Our client referees include a qualified vet, a police officer, and many other professionals and retired professionals.
About Blue: Forty eight. Professional writer, photographer and web developer. Private and grammar school educated. Formerly a university lecturer and research fellow, I am qualified to Masters degree level, and have a B.A. Fine Art degree, and an M.Sc. Electronic Product Design [digital and multi-media]. About Willow: Forty nine. A qualified running coach, and a 2 times county cross-country running champion [West Glamorgan, and South West of England, Westward League]. I also love to ocean swim and surf, and was in the semi finals of the 2006 British Bodyboarding Championships. I'm always looking for new places to run, and have run almost the whole of the Cornish Coastal Path, and am looking for new challenges. You can trust my judgement and sense of responsibility when it comes to the care of your home and animals. On a typical day, you'll find me running and swimming. I also assist Blue with her business, as a researcher and administrator. I spend most of my time caring for the animals when we house sit, and running the household.
What we're looking for: We are seeking the opportunity to make a mutual exchange with you. You will get caring, respectable and honest animal and home-loving house sitters. We will get to experience new countries and regions, and meet new people. Through housesitting, we get to know new areas, countries and cultures, which feeds into our creative work and into our life experience. travel really does broaden the mind, and open up new possibilities and potential in us all!
We are highly experienced home, pet and business sitters [references available], and have been partners for over twenty six years. We have been house sitting for many years, and seriously home, pet and business sitting formally since 2007. We have many regular clients around the world. We have great business and management skills as well as great domestic skills. We can deal with all the eventualities that can arise in your absence.
We have so far worked with cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, goldfish, parrots, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pics, goats, sheep and humans! [in the past we regularly ran a B&B in Wales as part of our regular housesitting duties]. Pet sitting wise, we'll learn to care for any animal or pet we're required to look after. We do our homework! We love animals and are experienced with rescued, sick & elderly pets. Our tabby cat, Gooseberry, lived to be 18. Our collie cross dog Tangle lived to be 15 and a half. We saw them through all of life's experiences and have this experience to bring to your pets too.
We can provide a reference from our vet on our ability to care well for your pets. We have been police checked too. We have experienced living in, managing and caring for a range of property types and ages, from medieval builds to new builds. We have particular skill and experience in rural properties, open fires, log burners, peat-stoves, wells etc. We also have experience of managing and caring for holiday accommodation, small campsites, small bed & breakfast establishments, and smallholdings.
We will care for and love your animals, your garden and your home as we would our own. We can give your pets a great holiday whilst you enjoy yours. We are experienced, energetic, loving, friendly, and fun for your animals to be with. We truly care. We'll keep in touch with you if required, by phone, text, email, and can send picture messages or emails with pictures of your pets enjoying their usual way of life in your absence. Your pet's routine will be as you wish it to be in your absence, we won't change things unnecessarily. We will give our undivided attention and loving care to your pets 24/7 throughout the sit. We won't be taking a holiday at your home...that's what we do between sits!
